Jordan Powell will return to the Fire for the 16/17 season. Cardiff Fire are delighted to announce Powell’s return. Jordan was pivotal to our success last season. He is a quick forward with an eye for goal. Jordan has spent all his hockey career in Cardiff coming through all the junior age groups before playing NIHL1 for a number of years. Last season Jordan racked up 18 points in just 12 games (13+5) known as being an agitator Jordan is much more than that. He put up impressive numbers and played on Fire’s top line last season.
Mark Cuddihy added “JP had a massive year for us last year, we have been working with him to change his role out on the ice, in division one he played a skilled gamed but he focused a lot on crashing and banging, but his skill set has just kept improving year upon year. We’d like him to focus more on the skilled part of his game but we know he can’t help himself sometimes. He enjoys what he does. His attitude is first class, he’s incredibly coachable and is developing himself into a leader in our room. That’s something that’s happened naturally.
He is a very important part of what we are trying to do and is another player with Division 1 experience. He should still be in that league. I’ve worked with JP a long time and I know exactly what I am going to get from him. Delighted he’s back with us”
