Match Night Guide

Cardiff Fire play in the South Division 1 of the British semi-professional ice hockey league – the National Ice Hockey League (NIHL).

The team play home games at the state-of-the-art the Vindico Arena (previously called Ice Arena Wales) located in the International Sports Village in Cardiff Bay.

Tickets

Tickets to home games are available to purchase in advance. For full information on ticket options please visit the Ticket Prices page. Season tickets are also available.

Tickets can also be purchased on the door at home games. We accept cash, card and contactless payments and entry is via the main bar on the first floor.

Cardiff Devils season ticket holders can show their 2024/25 season ticket on the door to claim a discounted ticket for just £6.

Seating

Seating is unreserved and entry on game day is via the doors in the main bar on the first floor. A seating plan of the Vindico Arena can be found on the Ticket Prices page.

Block 10 is the designated away seating section for visiting supporters.

Food & Refreshments

The arena has fantastic facilities with a Cafe on the ground floor serving everything from hot dogs and burgers to pizza and chips. The Bar is on the first floor serving alcoholic beverages, soft drinks and snacks. On the ground floor there are also Vending Machines with snacks and drinks. Cash, card and contactless payments are accepted at the arena.

Raffles

There are a number of chances to win a prize on match nights by entering our £1 raffles. Win a cash prize in the 50/50 raffle where 50% of the takings go to the winner and 50% go to the club.

There is also a chance to win a player’s game-worn jersey in the Shirt Off Their Back raffle and have a photo with the player at the end of the game.

Raffle tickets can be purchased for £1 each on the door before each game. Cash, card and contactless payments are accepted on the door.

Merchandise

We have merchandise to purchase on match nights at the sales desk in the main bar. You check out the merch before a game or place an order online at our Official Shop.

Game Time

Face-off is at 7:00pm on Saturdays and 6:45pm on Sundays (unless stated otherwise) and doors open for warm-up approximately 45 minutes before face-off.

Ice hockey games are played over three periods, each 20 minutes long with two intervals. The total length of the game is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including stoppages in play.

How To Get Here

Public Transport

Cardiff Bus operate service 9 which is short bus ride from the City Centre to the arena. For timetables visit cardiffbus.com.

Catch the Barry or Bridgend train from Cardiff Central station and alight at Cogan station. The arena is a short walk via Pont y Werin footbridge.

By Car

The arena is just a 10 minute drive from Junction 33 of the M4 motorway. Follow the A4232 using brown signs for Cardiff Bay and the International Sports Village.

Taxi

There is a drop-off and pick-up area for taxis at the front of the arena.

Parking

There is plenty of free parking available in the main car park at the rear of the arena and in the swimming pool car park which are both accessible via Empire Way.

Accessibility

The arena is easily accessible for visitors with mobility difficulties and accessibility needs. There is flat access, a lift to the bar and a number of wheelchair positions on the first floor of the arena located in row K.
