Speedy forward Carter Lloyd returns to Fire for his 8th season with the club

The Cardiff Fire are excited to announce that last season’s top points scorer Carter Lloyd has re-signed for the 2025-26 season.

Carter began his hockey career in Cardiff Juniors where he regularly featured as a top points producer. Carter had his first taste of NIHL hockey as a 16-year-old playing on both Fire’s division one and two teams.

Carter is coming off his best season at NIHL1 hockey where he led the Fire in points securing 28 from 36 games, consisting of 10 goals and 18 assists.

Head Coach Elis Sheppard on Carter’s re-signing:

I am thrilled Carter has agreed to commit to the Fire for another season. It is evident that he was a huge presence in our team last year, scoring some vital goals whilst also improving his defensive game also. It was a real strong year for him.

Carter can play anywhere in the line-up, including in our penalty shot contingent.

I know that during the off season he has been working hard so that he can emulate his performances this year. I envisage another successful season for Carter.

Welcome back to the Fire Family, CJ #27
