The doctor returns: League veteran Chris ‘the Dr’ Fox is back with Fire for 2025-26

Cardiff Fire are delighted to announce the return of forward Chris Fox for the 2025-26 season.

Chris joined the Fire in 2018 from Lee Valley and begins his sixth season with the club. Prior to playing in Lee Valley, Chris represented Streatham, Haringey and Slough playing in all tiers of NIHL hockey. Chris has also represented the Great Britain University team in 2016 at the university games.

Since joining the Fire, Foxy has been tasked with various roles in the team, from penalty kill and powerplay to grinder.

Head Coach Elis Sheppard on the return of Dr Fox:

It is great to retain Foxy for the upcoming season. Chris brings wisdom and experience into a locker room with players just starting their senior hockey career. I think his absence in the locker room last year at certain points of the year were felt.

Foxy often scores the dirty goals, going to places the puck is going, rather than where the puck was; a testament to his ability to read the game well. I know that Foxy is ready to compete and give his all for the team again.

Welcome back to the Fire Family, Foxy #9
