Cardiff Fire are delighted to welcome back Mike Brabon and Dan Brabon as Assistant Coaches to Player/Coach Elis Sheppard. Whilst Lewis Stevens continues as club Captain with Aaran Ragan, Ian Spridgeon and Chris Fox appointed as Alternate Captains.
Coaching & Off-Ice
Welcome back Assistant Coaches (and brothers) Mike Brabon and Dan Brabon who will be pivotal to our success on the ice this season. Jason Harvey-Loveless also continues in his role as Equipment Manager. An eighth season for Mike and Jason with Dan returning for a second season with the club!
Elis Sheppard continued:
I’m delighted to return as Head Coach for the upcoming season. I’m really excited by the team we have assembled and going into our second year in NIHL1 expectations have already been set. We are going to be fast, physical and tough to beat.
I’m fortunate to welcome back two great assets, Mike and Dan, who bring years of experience at the top level. I could not run the team without them.
Lastly, it’s a great honour to welcome back Jason, who does so much behind the scenes, it allows me to concentrate on the task ahead.

Captains
We would also like to introduce our new Captains group for the 2025-26 season.
Lewis Stevens begins his fourth season as club Captain, with Aaran Ragan, Ian Spridgeon and Chris Fox appointed as Alternate Captains by their fellow teammates.
Lewis Stevens added:
We’re back for our second season in NIHL1. We really started to find our feet within the league towards the end of last season and we look to pick up exactly where we left off.
Coach Shep has recruited well this off season by bringing in new players to strengthen both our offence and defence. A key part in this has been reigniting the junior development pathway which has brought us some very talented players to keep an eye on for this season.
It’s an honour to captain the team for the 4th consecutive season and especially one as historical as the 10 year anniversary of Cardiff Fire.
We’d be naive to think we’re the only team that’s strengthened for this season, and with Oxford and MK dropping down and nobody to fill their place; battling for that last playoff spot isn’t our target this season. The boys (and Gem) know what this year’s goal is and we’re going to do everything possible to achieve this target.
What exciting home openers we’ve got for the 25/26 season! Deeside at home this Saturday in the 1st leg of the Welsh Cup followed by a derby game against Swindon. We look to make an impact from the off. Bring the noise, and we’ll bring the fire!
