Cardiff Fire are pleased to again partner with Radio Cardiff 98.7FM & DAB award-winning show ‘Standing Room Only’ for the 2025-26 season.
Fire and Chris O’Brien’s Standing Room Only sports and music show on Radio Cardiff have renewed their long running partnership. The link-up has seen Chris O’Brien become the voice of Fire for home games, with Fire coverage featuring on the Radio Cardiff show throughout the season – including player interviews, match reaction and audio highlights.
Standing Room Only broadcasts at 9pm on Thursday evenings on Radio Cardiff 98.7FM & DAB, the only terrestrial radio channel exclusively covering the capital city of Wales. The show is focussed on local sport and music, and part of the programme’s core ethos is to deliver parity of coverage for the local professional, semi-professional and grassroots sports scenes. The show has twice won honours at the UK Community Radio awards – winning silver in the prestigious Sports Show of the Year category in 2018, and bronze in 2019.

I am always thrilled when Chris and Standing Room Only confirm they are back onboard with the Fire. As I’ve said before I am a big fan of the show, I’ve been on it myself along with some of the guys. Chris brought his energy from his radio show into our match nights and he really is now the voice of Fire. Chris along with DJ Dave had the place rocking again all last season. We pride ourselves on the best match night experience we can deliver and having Chris back again is crucial to that. I know the players are also pumped that he’s back due to the atmosphere he creates within the building.
