The Cardiff Fire are delighted to announce the re-signing of utility player Robert Price for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
The Welsh native returns to the Fire line-up for another campaign, bringing his trademark high-energy work ethic, smooth skating and invaluable versatility back to the ice.
A product of both the Cardiff Devils and Swindon junior development systems, Rob joined the Fire midway through the 2022-23 season from Swindon Wildcats 2. Since stepping onto the ice in Cardiff, the #83 has established himself as a firm favourite among fans and teammates alike.
Known for his tireless energy and willingness to battle for every loose puck, Price has continually demonstrated his utility value. Capable of switching seamlessly between forward and defence whenever called upon, he transitioned firmly into the defensive core in recent seasons while remaining an agile option anywhere on the ice.
At just 21 years old, Rob has amassed an impressive 105 senior games (59 at NIHL1 and 46 at NIHL2) and brings a lot of D1 experience for such a young player.

Rob is an exceptional utility player who has the tools and strengths to excel in either roll he plays.
In defence, Rob is no nonsense. He battles well in the corners, with a positional awareness which would make you think this is his natural position. He is often capable of making defence splitting passes.
As a forward, he skates well, battles hard and can generate offence from 50/50 pucks.
