Cardiff Fire are delighted to introduce our new coaching and off-ice team for the 2026-27 season.
We are proud to welcome back Elis Sheppard who enters his fifth season as Player-Head Coach to lead us into this exciting new era, alongside Hayley Jayne returning for her third season as our Bench Medic & Sports Therapist.
Joining the staff for their first official season, we are thrilled to welcome Dave Mooney as Assistant Coach, following his invaluable support behind the bench during the second half of last season, alongside Dan Lewis as Goaltending Coach and Stuart James as Equipment Manager.

Looking ahead to the 2026/27 season, I’m thrilled to be working alongside our new coaching and bench team. Every coach I’ve spoken with shares the exact same vision: pushing the Fire to improve with every practice and game.
We have complete belief in each other and the roster we’ve assembled. Our priority is developing these players to be the best they can be, making real progress this season and ensuring everyone enjoys this exciting new chapter for the club.
