Cardiff Fire are delighted to add two new players to the line-up for the 2022/23 season.
Joining the Fire on a two-way deal with Swindon juniors is Alessio Bovolenta, younger brother of Fire defenceman Niccolo. Italian born 17 year old Alessio started his junior hockey career here in Cardiff before moving on to Swindon to play division one junior hockey. Tricky forward Alessio has been ‘on the radar’ for some time following some impressive displays in his junior career. No stranger to the club, Alessio started skating with the team last season with a view to bringing him into the fold this term.
Head Coach Elis Sheppard added:
I’m really excited with the signing of Alessio. He’s a talented forward, with an abundance of speed and skill. He will be a danger to the league this season. I’m glad we were able to convince him to return to Cardiff for this upcoming season. I’m hoping this will be a breakout season for him.

Another new player joining the team is defenceman Jasper Quinn. Jasper joins the Fire from Cardiff University team the RedHawks. The big imposing defenceman takes pride in looking after his team mates and will be a very exciting addition to this seasons line-up.
Head Coach Elis Sheppard continued:
Jasper brings height and strength to the D core. He’s a good skater and has a powerful shot. He impressed in trials with the above demonstrated. He’s also very committed to giving his all for the team, a quality we look for in players. He’s also not afraid to drop the gloves to protect a team mate, a quality which is much admired within the dressing room.

Welcome to the Fire family, Alessio and Jasper! #FireItUp
