Fire stay top with win over the Wildcats

Cardiff Fire retained their position as league leaders with a 5-1 win over the Swindon Wildcats. Fire’s first goal came after 6 mins with Robert Sedlak driving the net from a Ricky Deacon break. Fire then scored immediately after to make it 2-0. Fire won the draw a quick D to D pass found Jordon Powell who took a slap shot form out side the blue line to go in off the post. The period ended 2-0 to the Fire.

Just 3 mins into the second period Fire got their 3rd goal of the evening again though Jordon Powell. Jordon working hard to win back the puck down low and got his reward for his hard work finding himself one on one with the Swindon goalie and scoring with a lovely deke. 3-0 Fire

6 mins into the final period Fire ran into penalty trouble and Swindon capitalised with a power play goal scored by Daniel Williams beating the excellent Joe Myers for the first time of the evening. The penalties continued with Fire on the kill for large chunks of the period. But it was Fire to get the last goal of the game and a power play goal of their own. Jordon Powell found Gareth Dixon on the point who’s shot was tipped in by Robert Sedlak to make the final score Fire 5 Swindon Wildcats 1
