The Cardiff Fire are delighted to announce the retention of 17-year-old goaltender Brochan Evans on a two-way with Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey Academy U19s for the 2025-26 season.
Brochan, a product of the Cardiff Junior development, split his time last year between the Fire and the Swindon Wildcats U18s as starting goalie where he led the team to a national final weekend.
Brochan was called upon a couple of occasions last year and performed very well considering the circumstances and only being 16 years old at the time.

Head Coach Elis Sheppard on the re-signing of Evans:
I don’t think there are any words to describe Brochan. You can ask anyone on the team, and I think they will agree. He is the life and soul of the locker room and such a big personality to have in the team, still only being 17.
Brochan developed exceptionally well last season, benefitting from his two-way arrangement. Some of his standout performances came against two of the league leaders.
I have spoken to Brochan at length in terms of developing his game to the next step and I know he is working hard outside of the rink to be the best he can be.
I am excited to see what this year has in store for him.
Welcome back to the Fire Family #42 Brochan!
