Cardiff Fire add another player

Cardiff Fire are pleased to announce the signing of David Sadler. Sadler joins Josh Haslam as the 2nd player to sign from the Cardiff NIHL one team this week.

Like Haslam, Sadler has played all his career in Cardiff from the under 10’s up to senior hockey. Sadler joined the ENL 1 team in 2007, playing alongside many of the current Cardiff Fire squad. Sadler is a quick winger and fans favourite, with his high energy style of play and never give up attitude. He can also play as a centre and is a good playmaker.

Fire Coach Mark Cuddihy added “It’s great to bring Sads in, I’ve known him for 9 years, played alongside him and coached him for a long time. We have a really big squad now and it’s exactly where we want to be, after new year things speed up a bit for us and we want to get all the players involved. We can’t currently call on junior players so we need to make sure our squad is big enough to cope with whatever comes our way. David approached me early in the week and after a quick chat with him we snapped him up. His energy is first class, he’s someone we can use on the PK and he’s a great team guy as well. We already have a great dressing room but Sadler will add to that. We now have 4 lines that score goals, with the addition of Stevo, Haslam and Sadler it gives us enormous strength in depth”

David Sadler will wear number 98 for the Fire!
