Cardiff Fire are delighted to announce the return of local forward Carter Lloyd to the team for the 2024/25 season.
Carter began his hockey career in Cardiff juniors where he regularly featured as a top points producer. Carter had his first taste of NIHL hockey as a 16 year-old playing on both Fire’s division one and two teams.
Carter spent the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons on two-way deals with division one clubs Bristol and Oxford City Stars. Last season Carter played exclusively for Fire scoring his best senior points tally of 33 points in 20 league games.
Head Coach Elis Sheppard added:
It was great to have Carter full-time with us last season and incorporate him in on the regular PP line. His speed and vision really assisted with our offence last season, along with his dynamic skating ability. He has added more fundamentals to his game and has progressed from a playmaker to a goal scorer, too.
Carter is a well-liked and respected member of the dressing room, giving 100% every shift.
Evidentially, after coming off such a successful personal season, he was bound to gauge interests from other teams, but I am excited that he decided to stay with the Fire and expect to see his talent flourish this season in NIHL1.
Welcome back to the Fire Family, Carter #27
