Fire add promising young talent Bobby Ragan from rivals Bristol

Cardiff Fire are delighted to announce the signing of talented local prospect Bobby Ragan.

17 year-old Bobby started his hockey career as a Cardiff Junior before heading to the Swindon Academy. In the 2022-23 season Bobby made his way to OHA in Canada where he picked up 13 points in 22 games for U18s OHA White AAA.

This season Bobby signed a two-way contract with Bristol playing in both the NIHL2 and National League teams. The former Great Britain U16 international now makes the move back home to finish the season with Cardiff Fire as we push on for the second part of our season in the new year, whilst remaining on a two-way with the Pitbulls National League team.

Head Coach Elis Sheppard added:

Bobby is a talented individual who has a keen eye for goals and provides us with a different attacking dynamic. He has the ability to hold the puck in the offensive zone to help generate scoring opportunities. Bobby fits into the Fire’s ethos of promoting youth. I’m delighted we were able to bring Bobby back home to Cardiff for the second part of the 2023-24 season and for the play-off push.

Welcome to the Fire family, Bobby! #FireItUp
