Fire make it 16 wins in a row with 10-1 victory over Wightlink

Fire took the winning streak to 16 games on the bounce with a convincing victory over the Wightlink Buccaners.

The game started quickly for Fire, Tim Burrows scoring after just 44 seconds of play. Just 4 mins later Robert Sedlak doubled the lead for the Fire. The following 15 mins the first period was disrupted due to a number of minor penalties dished out. Fire pounded the Wightlink goal with 20 shots during the first period but could land more than two scores.

The 2nd period also started quickly with Fire finding the breakthrough on the power play, this time it was Robert Sedlak again to score after just 3 mins of play. 5 mins later and Bobby was on the score sheet for his hat trick goal making the score 4-1 to the Fire. Tim Burrows keen to keep the dual going with Sedlak scored his 2nd goal just a min after. It was Sedlak who had the final say in the period with his 4th goal of the night 2nd period ended 6-1 to the Fire.

The 3rd period had a switch from the Sedlak/Burrows show with other players now going in the goals. Sam Smith bagging one after 3 mins of play in the 3rd. 3 further goals came in the 3rd for the Fire with Sammy Bryant, Ricky Deacon and Jackson Price all chipping in making the score an impressive 10-1 finish to the Fire.

Fire make it 16 wins from 16 games in all competitions and finish the league season with a perfect record at Ice Arena Wales. Fire head off to Basingstoke tonight for the penultimate road game of the regular season. Fire than play Swindon at the link centre tying up the league campaign before the cup weekend on the 8th/9th April. Followed by the play-off semi finals the weekend of the 15th/16th April.
