Match Report

Match report by Georgia Thomas

In the first ten minutes, forward Luther Daly opened the scoring up in the first period with an unassisted goal, his first Fire senior goal at this level. Fire followed his lead with the second even-strength goal of the period from Danny Williams.

The second period was hard fought with both teams playing end-to-end. Fire managed to score their third goal of the night from James Matthews with Fire now taking a three-goal lead. However, the comfortable lead ended when the Stars managed to score during a powerplay and shortened the gap by one goal towards the end of the period.

In the final period, we saw Fire reclaim the three-goal lead with the fourth and final Fire goal of the night, another even-strength goal scored by Kris Kasjanovs assisted by Captain Lewis Stevens and defenceman Louis James.

Player of the Game of course went to Luther Daly after scoring his first senior goal. Congratulations again Luther!
