The Cardiff Fire are thrilled to confirm the re-signing of goaltender Gemma Davies for the 2025-26 season, on a two-way with Bristol Huskies WNIHL Elite.
Gemma, a local to the Cardiff set up, has had stints in Bristol for the NIHL2 team, before making the switch back to the Fire for the 2023-24 season where she had solidified herself in the team whilst also representing the Bristol Huskies in the Women’s League Division 1.
Last season, Gemma was called on several times to lead the line in the new league and impressed on every occasion. Most notably, leading the team to victory against the Milton Keynes Thunder and the initial 5-5 draw against the Deeside Dragons in Fire’s first NIHL1 game and more specifically, the first Welsh Cup game in over a decade.

Coach Shep of the re-signing of Gemma Davies:
I am delighted Gemma has agreed to join the ranks again for the upcoming season. It is safe to say Gem was thrown into the deep end last season but preformed incredibly. Gem is technically a very good goalie and gives the team a chance to win every game she plays.
The team all can’t talk highly enough what Gemma brings to the team. She has a good relationship with her goaltending team and is always eager to continue to develop.
Welcome back to the Fire Family, Gem! #96
