Cardiff Fire are delighted to share that promising youngsters Jack Whiting and Rob Price are returning to the club for the 2023/24 season.
20 year old Whiting starts his 4th season with the club, joining the Fire as a 16 year old. Jack has established himself within the senior set-up representing the club 79 times scoring 37 points with 168 penalty minutes.
18 year old Rob Price joined the club last year from Swindon Wildcats. Cardiff born Price started his hockey career in Cardiff before leaving for Swindon juniors in the 2019 season. Rob went on to play U15’s and U18’s in Swindon before stepping up in 2021 to the NIHL team. Rob played 26 games for the senior Swindon team scoring 10 points before switching to his hometown club midway through last season. Rob joins the Fire full-time for the 2023/24 season.

Jack is starting his fourth season with the fire and is now considered one of more mature players on the team. Jack is a great skater and can carry the puck into the zone. He also plays like he is 6ft 6. He isn’t scared to battle in the corners and drop the gloves when needed. I’m expecting Jack to have another stellar year.
It was great to retain Rob from Swindon towards the end of last season. He was a player that was on my radar for a while and I was excited when he agreed to return to his boyhood club. Regrettably, I wasn’t able to play alongside him last year. Rob is a great skater and isn’t afraid to battle for the puck in the greasy zones. He has the ability to be one of the best forwards in the league and I’m excited to work closely with him this season.
