Latvian Forward Kris Kasjanovs returns to the line up for 2021-22

Riga born forward Kristians Kasjanovs is back in Fire colours for the new season.

Kris started his hockey career in Latvia before joining the fire last term as a junior player. Kris played for Cardiff U18’s, Fire 2 and Fire 1 teams. Kris played 6 games for the Under 18’s last season scoring 10 goals with 1 assist. Kris also played 5 games for the Fire 2 team scoring 3 points and finished the season 2nd in scoring for the Fire 1 team with 13 goals and 10 assists.

Director of Hockey and Head Coach Mark Cuddihy added:

Kris had a fantastic season with us last time out. He adapted to senior hockey really well considering he was just 16 when he first played for us. He’s just turned 19 and has grown a lot during the past year. Chris has looked really sharp in pre-season and the extra size he now has will help him a lot. He’s a smart player that knows where the net is. His numbers in his first full season speaks volumes for the kind of player we’re getting back. I’m expecting him to have a really big season for us this year. A great player to have returning to us.

Welcome back Kris! #FireItUp
