MK Thunder 3-7 Cardiff Fire

Starting strong with the first Fire goal of the night scored by #59 Iwan Davies assisted by #97 Player-Coach Elis Sheppard and #82 Cedric Racine timed at 2:44. However this was followed by two goals from Thunder leaving the end of the first period Thunder leading the score by one point, Fire 1 – 2 Thunder.
The second period started with another goal for Thunder growing their lead to two points. However after this, two separate penalties against Thunder lead to two goals with Fire taking advantage of both of these powerplays. The first powerplay goal scored by #43 Captain Lewis Stevens, assisted by #59 Davies and #33 Aaron Moody timed at 28:08 and the second scored by #27 Carter Lloyd, assisted by #19 Tom Stephens and #8 Louis James timed at 28:48. #27 Lloyd in keeping with his hard work which led him to Player of the Game on Saturday scored his second goal of the night, an even-handed goal assisted by #97 Sheppard and #43 Stevens timed at 36:00. With yet another penalty against Thunder, Fire turned this opportunity into another powerplay goal this time scored by #33 Moody and with another assist of the night for #43 Stevens the final goal of the second period. End of period scoring being Fire 5 – 3 Thunder, Fire now with the two-goal lead.
With a dramatic beginning to the third period with multiple penalties given to both teams. Fire continuing their successful night of capitalising on opportunities from penalties scored another powerplay goal, this time scored by #97 Sheppard assisted by #34 Bailey Hind-Pitcher and #98 Thurlbert timed at 54:48. With Fire making sure that Thunder did not get many opportunities to get shots on goal during the third period, they ended the night with their final goal scored by #98 William Thurlbert, who was assisted by #27 Lloyd and #59 Davies.
Fire could leave Milton Keynes proud of their playing with the end game score: Thunder 3-7 Fire. With a goal, an assist and some great playing from him, Player of the Game went to #33 Aaron Moody.
