Cardiff Fire became the first visiting team to win a game at the newly opened Planet Ice Bristol beating the Pitbulls 5-0 in Saturday night’s Severnside Derby.

Fire took an early lead in the game when Lewis Stevens scored after just 3:56. A goalless second period followed before Kris Kasjanovs and Sam Bryant completed the scoring with 2 goals a piece in the final period.

Netminder Ben Scanlan finished the night with a solid performance stopping all 51 shots faced for his first senior shutout.
Sam Bryant picked up Man of the Match on the night with a brace and Fire claimed 2 more league and cup points in the season series against the Pitbulls.

Chris O’Brien of Standing Room Only – Radio Cardiff 98.7FM caught up with Head Coach Mark Cuddihy following the win.
