Thank You, Fire Family

The Cardiff Fire would like to extend a huge diolch / thank you to everyone who supported the team through the 2024/25 season.

Thank you to our players, coaches and off-ice team for all their hard work making it possible for a ninth season in the National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) as the team returned to Division 1. Fire finished 8th in the league standings with seven wins - The team's best result in NIHL1, also qualifying for the Britton playoff quarter-finals for the first time.

Thank you to our amazing supporters, volunteers, sponsors and partners for their dedication to the club all season long. We simply couldn’t do it without your incredible support at home and on the road.

We would also like to thank all of the arena staff and security team for everything they do to help things run smoothly on and off the ice at all of our home games.

Player-Coach Elis Sheppard said:

After 36 league games, two Welsh Cup games and two playoff games our season has come to a close.

From the novice team playing against Deeside in the Welsh Cup, to giving the league champions a tightly contested affair in our final game. I see this season as the start of new beginnings for the club.

It’s not always been easy, but the way the team have taken everything in their stride is a testament to each of their character.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the volunteers, who are the very heartbeat of our club. To our fans, your positive words of encouragement and unwavering support will continue to empower our improvement.

A final thank you to the players. There is no one else I’d rather coach and share that ice with.

See you all at the awards night… Keep an eye on our socials!

The 2024/25 season may have come to an end, but we continue to work on plans for next season as the club goes from strength to strength.

Fire Family, we can’t wait to do it all again with you at the Vindico Arena. We look forward to giving you a warm welcome back to Fire hockey night when we return!

Keep following us on social media and via the website as we provide updates over the coming months on preparations for the new season.
