Cardiff Fire are thrilled to announce the signing of Cardiff born William Thurlbert from Ontario Hockey Academy for the 2024/25 season.
Will started his hockey career here in Cardiff before heading out to Canada following a breakout season in U16s where Will racked up an impressive 51 points in just 18 games (28+23).
During his last two years in Canada, Will has played 75 games scoring 24 points covering various leagues including AAA & AA U18 hockey.
Head Coach Elis Sheppard added:
Will has been a player I’ve kept a close eye on over a few seasons and someone I have tried to sign before. He is a young prospect who has enjoyed hockey in Canada the past couple of seasons.
Will brings strong skating, a great release and great hands. He will slot into the team seamlessly. I’m excited to see Will’s transition into senior hockey this season and expect for him to have a breakout year.
