Cardiff Fire are pleased to announce the return of Iwan Davies and Ryan Banwell for the 2023/24 season.
Iwan and Ryan both started their hockey playing days in the capital, with Iwan Davies starting his 6th consecutive season with the Fire. Iwan has played in defence and forward positions for the club, appearing in 143 games and scoring 51 times for a total of 80 points. 32 year old Ryan Banwell re-joins the club for a 3rd stint after helping out for 8 games last season, scoring one and assisting one.

Head Coach Elis Sheppard continued:
Iwan has probably the hardest shot in the league and is an asset for our blue line. He gives our offensive zone scoring opportunities a different dynamic. He’s solid in D, but can also double up as a skilful forward.
Ryan is a very intelligent player. His transitional play from his defensive duties to offence is one of his strongest attributes. He also has the ability to dictate the tempo and dynamic of an offensive zone forecheck. I’m hoping he’ll be able to help us out more this season.
Welcome back to the Fire family, Spud and Ryan! #59 #77 #FireFamily

You can catch the new team in action for our home season opener against Lee Valley Lions on Saturday 16th September at the Vindico Arena - Face-off is at 6:45pm with tickets available to book online soon.
