Fire add another new face as Aaron Moody signs from Solihull Barons

Cardiff Fire are delighted to add another new face to the line-up with the signing of Aaron Moody from Solihull Barons for the 2024/25 season.

Aaron began his hockey career in Coventry before heading to Swindon to play in the OHA academy where he played 4 years of U18 hockey. In his final year at OHA, Aaron made the step up to NIHL hockey as a junior playing for the Swindon Wildcats.

During the 2020/21 season Aaron headed stateside with the New York Aviators and the New Jersey Hitmen playing in the USPHL Elite and USPHL Premier leagues.

Returning home in 2021 Aaron re-signed in Swindon and split his time between NIHL2 Wildcats and the Bristol Pitbulls in NIHL1. Aaron then moved on to Oxford City Stars keeping his two-way deal with Bristol, but this time in the National League. Last season Aaron started the season with Oxford before moving to the Solihull Barons in NIHL1 North.

At the age of just 22 Aaron has amassed 86 NIHL1 games scoring 47 points.

Head Coach Elis Sheppard added:

Aaron is a player who is held in very high regard by his previous coaches. He brings experience despite his young age. He has a keen eye for the goal and is proven forward threat at this level. He will be a forward I heavily rely on for his versatility and his desire to compete.

New forward Aaron Moody said:

When I spoke to Shep in the Summer and he outlined Cardiff’s plans for this coming season and the future I knew it would be the right move for me. Having played with a few players at the club before and hearing that there is a great group of guys, it was an easy decision to come to Cardiff. Hopefully having played a number of seasons in this league, I can help the team step up and really push the more established teams.

Everyone at the Cardiff Fire would like to give Aaron a warm welcome to the Fire Family! #33
