Cardiff Fire are pleased to announce that young local goaltender Ben Scanlan returns to the line-up for the 2024/25 season.
22 year-old Ben has played exclusively for Fire apart from a brief loan to Elite League outfit Fife Flyers and the Cardiff Devils.
Despite his young age Ben has played 101 NIHL senior games, 22 of those games came in starts for the Fire last season, where Ben achieved a 91.6% save percentage.
Head Coach Elis Sheppard continued:
Ben gives us the chance to win games even when we are not at our best. He has an excellent complete level, a very technical goalie and will give his all for the team.
He’s returning after his best season in senior hockey and I know he will want to build on this. I will be relying on Ben as one of the more senior players to aid with our transition to NIHL1.
