Cardiff Fire can win a second league title this Sunday at Ice Arena Wales if they can overcome the challenge of Swindon Wildcats. Fire are on a 13 game win streak in league and cup action and entertain Slough in the cup on Sat followed by a league game against Swindon this Sunday.
Fire need just 2 more points in the league to clinch a second league title in as many seasons. Victory over Swindon will give Fire the 2 points needed.
Fire have seen some decent crowds at Ice Arena Wales this season and we are hopeful a strong Cardiff hockey fan base will be in attendance to hopefully see us retain the league title.
Swindon Wildcats will be no push overs though. Swindon have a good young team with many players from the OHA hockey academy representing the NIHL team. There have been some entertaining games v the Wildcats this season including a close fought 3-2 victory in Cardiff for the Fire. They will no doubt be out to spoil our party!!
