Fire make it 14 wins in a row a take back to back titles at Ice Arena

Cardiff Fire secured the league title in front of a bumper crowd on Sunday night with the 14th straight win over local rivals the Swindon Wildcats. Fire saw the full return of Captain Tim Burrows and he sealed his return with 2 goals and an assist, while also picking up Fire man of the match.

Further goals from Sam Bryant, Robert Sedlak and Sam smith sealed the victory for the Fire. Fire had an unbelievable 57 shots on the Swindon goal with 30 coming in the first period. Swindons goalie and their man of the match Liam McGuire made an incredible 52 saves to keep the Wildcats in with a chance right through the game.

Fire have two home games remaining and 4 in total in the league and will use these games as cup and play-off preparation. The cup finals weekend will take place this year at Cardiffs Ice Arena Wales on the weekend of the 8th/9th April with the play-off semi final played over home and away legs the following weekend (15th/16th April)

Fire are next at home against bitter rivals the Bristol Pitbulls on Sunday 26th February 6pm face of at Ice Arena Wales.
