Cardiff Fire are delighted to confirm that the following forwards will be returning for the 2022/23 season.
Carter Lloyd
Carter returns to the line-up after spending last season on a two-way with Bristol. This season Carter will again be taking advantage of the U23 rule while he splits his time between Cardiff Fire and Oxford City Stars.
Fire Player-Coach Elis Sheppard said:
Carter is one of the fastest players in this league and uses this to his advantage. He is an ever danger threat when he is on the ice and is always looking to make something happen. During the last season his game developed significantly and with the two-way agreement with Oxford this season, I am excited to seeing his game improve again.

Cedric Racine
Canadian born Cedric (24) returns to the line-up after joining the Fire in 2019 and spending his junior hockey career in Slough.
Cedric is another character in the dressing room, bringing banter and entertainment to the team. However, he brings a dynamic to the team unique to himself. He is not afraid to battle for the loose pucks and creates offensive zone turn overs. His game really excelled last season with the additional ice time. He will be relied upon a lot more again this season.

Kristians Kasjanovs
Latvian Kris joined Fire in 2019 from the top Latvian junior league and has held down our ‘import slot’ ever since. Kris has scored 27 goals with 16 assists in 46 games for the Fire.
Kris has the potential to be one of the best offensive threats in this league. He has blistering speed accompanied with unbelievable hands. He is always dangerous to the opposition when the puck is in his possession. I am looking at Kris to enhance his game this season to establish himself as one of the top forwards in this league.

Jack Whiting
Jack returns to the line-up for the 2022/23 season. Jack has been with the club since the age of just 15 and splits his time as a skating coach. Last season Jack scored 12 points in 21 games for the Fire.
Jack enjoyed his first full season of senior hockey and posted impressive stats for a player who left the junior development at a young age. Jack brings tenacity, with a positive work ethic. He is very much a team first guy and is great to have around in the dressing room. In this second season I am looking for Jack to continue to improve and become a real force to play against.

Samual Bryant
Sam has been with Fire since 2016 winning two league titles along his journey. Sam has played 128 games for the Fire scoring 70 points during that time. Sam is an all energy fan favourite.
Sammy B brings a never die attitude. Despite being one of the smaller players on the team, Sam is not afraid to protect teammates and himself. He hits like a train and can also put the puck in the net. Unfortunately, Sam’s season was cut short last year. I know he has come back hungry for success and is ambitious in helping the team achieve a great season.

Samuel Jones
Sam begins his 4th season with the Fire after graduating from Cardiff juniors. Sam was unlucky last season, getting injured in his first game and missing the entire season. We’re sure Sam is busting to get a full season under his belt this term.
Sam is coming into this season in a better position than last. Unfortunately, Sam only played one game last season before injury ruled him out for the rest of the season. Sam has great hands and is a great skater. He has demonstrated previously his ability to finesse the opposition defence and I am expecting to see a lot more of that this season.

Samuel Bennett
Sam re-joins the Fire and begins his 3rd season after joining from Okanagan hockey academy. The 19 year old spent 3 years at OHA before joining up with the Fire on a two-way deal during the 2019 season.
I am glad to see Sam back this season. He has been working hard in the gym during the off season to improve his on-ice gameplay. Sam has a powerful shot in his arsenal and is a great skater. I am anticipating with another year of experience under his belt, his game will go from strength to strength.

Welcome back Carter, Cedric, Kris, Jack, Sam Bryant, Sam Bennett and Sam Jones! #FireItUp
