Chris ‘the doctor’ Fox returns to the Fire as Player-Assistant Coach

Cardiff Fire are delighted to announce that Chris Fox will return to the line-up and continue in his role as Player-Assistant Coach for the 2024/25 season.

Chris joined the Fire in 2018 from Lee Valley and begins his sixth season with the club. Prior to playing in Lee Valley, Chris represented Streatham, Haringey and Slough playing in all tiers of NIHL hockey. Chris has also represented the Great Britain University team in 2016 at the university games.

Since joining Fire Chris has played over 100 games for the club scoring 62 points in a Fire jersey.

Chris splits his time between hockey and life as a doctor. We featured Chris and his work during the pandemic, working on the frontline of Welsh hospitals.

Head Coach Elis Sheppard continued:

Foxy is someone who brings experience and leadership to the locker room. He has a fantastic compete level, always having the team’s best interests at heart. He has a habit of scoring crucial goals over the years I’ve known him.

Foxy will continue his role as Assistant Coach, providing much needed assistance and knowledge to ensure we are systematically the best we can be approaching the new season.

Welcome back to the Fire Family, Foxy #9
