Chris ‘the doctor’ Fox returns in dual role for the Fire

Forward Chris Fox returns to the Fire line-up to start his 3rd season in Cardiff colours and will take on the dual role of becoming the clubs official doctor.

Londoner Chris first played senior hockey for Slough Jets in the EPL back in 2007. Chris played junior hockey in Haringey before moving to Slough to represent the Jets at EPL, ENL and junior levels. Chris then spent the next 9 years splitting his time between Lee Valley, Streatham and Slough before heading to Cardiff during the 2018-19 season. Chris splits his time between hockey and life as a doctor. We featured Chris and his work during the pandemic, working on the frontline of Welsh hospitals.

Director of Hockey and Head Coach Mark Cuddihy added:

Chris is an absolute hero, as are all doctors during these times. I was delighted when we spoke about Chris operating a dual role for us, Chris will become the teams official doctor as well as a player for us this season. It’s a role that will also help Chris professionally and it will help us out enormously. It’s something Chris has always done for us anyway but to make it official is great. As a player you won’t find many players that work harder than Chris. He doesn’t stop skating and leaves everything out there every shift. He’s very vocal in the room and is one of our most experienced players having spent such a long time in the league. Chris is also a fantastic guy and it will be pleasure to have him back in the room with us again.
