28 year old defenceman Martyn Gray returns for his 2nd season with the Cardiff Fire after joining for the 2019-20 season from Oxford City Stars.
Martyn started his hockey life in Cardiff juniors before heading to Swindon where he made his senior debut for the Swindon Wildcats ENL team in 2009-10. Hockey then took Martyn to Sheffield where he played NIHL hockey for 5 years for the Senators. During the 2016-17 season Martyn returned south signing for the Bracknell Hornets before moving across to the Oxford City Stars for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 season. The following season saw Martyn return back to his native Wales where he signed for the Fire.

Director of Hockey and Head Coach Mark Cuddihy added:
Martyn is a super reliable defenceman. He was outstanding for us in his first full season. Even though he’s only 28, he’s an older head in our room and has that old school hockey mentality that I really like. He’s incredibly experienced at this level and some of our younger players will learn a lot from him this season. Martyn will be a key player for this this term on our blue line and I am delighted that he’s back with us for another season.
Welcome back Martyn! #FireItUp
