The Cardiff Fire are pleased to announce that 20 year-old defenceman Ioan Gunson has agreed to return for the 2025-26 season.
Ioan, a product of the Cardiff Junior set up, is going into his third season with the Fire and has grown as a player each season. Last season, Ioan gained valuable experience with the Bristol NIHL2 team, which helped him develop his overall game.
Head Coach Elis Sheppard on the re-signing of Ioan:
Ioan is a coach's dream. He has a desire to improve and takes feedback on board, often trying to improve the very next shift. He is someone who when called on, will give 100% every shift.
He continues to improve as the seasons go on. I am excited to see his progression again this season.
