Cardiff Fire are pleased to announce the return of both Justin Racine and Cedric Racine for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
Canadian born brothers Justin and Cedric Racine have agreed to return to the line-up. Both brothers started their hockey careers Slough before heading to Cardiff during the 2019-20 season. Justin 28, is a big physical defenceman whilst younger brother Cedric is a fast-skating winger.
Director of Hockey and Head Coach Mark Cuddihy added:
Both guys are fantastic on and off the ice. Justin is a physical player, an older head that will bring calm on the ice and in the room. We called Justin up to the Fire 1 team last season and he looked comfortable at that level. He makes good safe plays and adds a lot of size to our blue line, we have another very young team so having older heads like Justin is important for us. Cedric was signed for the Fire 2 team last time out, but only ended up playing in 9 games, he stepped up to the D1 one team early on and played in 24 games in D1. Cedric is a well-disciplined player with bags of speed. He played a crucial role for us as the season went on and he started pre-season looking very sharp. I am excited to see him develop even more this season. Our dressing room is very important for us and both players are hugely popular figures in the room. I am delighted they’re both back.
Welcome back Justin and Cedric! #FireItUp
