Cardiff Fire Unveils Bold New Logo to Mark 10th Anniversary

In a fiery celebration of a decade on the ice, Cardiff Fire Ice Hockey Club has revealed a striking new logo that signals both a nod to its roots and a bold step into the future.

The redesign comes as part of the team’s 10th anniversary festivities, commemorating a journey that began in 2015 and has since ignited passion across the Welsh hockey community.

A Symbol Reborn

The new emblem retains the club’s signature flame motif but introduces a sleeker, more modern design. Gone is the traditional crest-style badge - in its place, Enter the dragon: fierce, dynamic, and unmistakably Welsh. With flames sculpting its form and a hockey stick clenched in its jaws, it embodies power, pride, and precision.

10 Years of Fire

The 2025–26 season marks a milestone for the Fire, who have grown from humble beginnings into a club with a passionate fanbase and a reputation for fierce competition. From memorable Welsh Cup clashes to community-driven events like Chuck-a-Puck, Cardiff Fire has become a fixture in the city’s sporting landscape.

Looking Ahead

With the new season kicking off in September and fresh faces joining the roster, Cardiff Fire is ready to blaze into its second decade with renewed purpose. The logo may be new, but the heart of the Fire remains unchanged: community, competition, and a whole lot of passion.

Director of Hockey Mark Cuddihy added:

After 10 years of Fire hockey, we decided that it was time to freshen up our logo. We wanted a design that celebrated our ‘Welshness’ while retaining the puck and flames from the previous logo. Our new logo reflects the fire in our identity, it’s bold, united and ready for the future.

We will not be retiring the old logo permanently as there are plans for some retro merch and a 10 year anniversary jersey. We all hope you will love the new look as much as we do.

Head Coach Elis Sheppard on the new logo:

From being with the Fire from its inception to now coaching the team, this new logo is about the growth and the resilience this great club has been through during its first decade. The logo represents ambition whilst paying homage to past successes.

I can’t wait to represent the new logo and team again for the 2025-26 season.

You can catch the new team in action for our home season opener against Deeside Dragons in the Welsh Cup on Saturday 20th September. Face-off is at 7pm at the Vindico Arena with tickets available to book online soon.
