Update for Fans Regarding the 2020/21 Season

Many would have seen the recent release on social media and the EIHA website from the governing body regarding a ‘spring cup mini-series,’ but unfortunately, this will not include Cardiff Fire.

As you will all be aware, we operate under a different government to our fellow clubs across the bridge, and therefore a different set of rules and restrictions that do not allow us to play at this time. In addition, Ice Arena Wales has remained closed since the first lockdown restrictions, as have many other rinks across the UK.

We feel that it’s time to formally draw a line under the 2020/21 season and start full preparations for the 2021/22 season. With the vaccine rollout hitting great speeds across Wales, we are confident that when we do return it will be with no restrictions and that fans and players alike can return safely to Ice Arena Wales to once again enjoy the sport we all love.

Whilst it’s disappointing to finally admit defeat (for now) to this terrible virus, we fully support the efforts being made to keep the nation safe.

We hope that everyone is staying safe and well and we really look forward to welcoming you all back for the 2021/22 season.

Your Cardiff Fire will return #FireFamily
