Cardiff Fire are thrilled to announce the re-signing of last season’s Young Player of the Year William Thurlbert for the 2025-26 season.
Will started his hockey career here in Cardiff before heading out to Canada following a breakout season in the U16s where Will racked up an impressive 51 points in just 18 games (28+23).
During his last two years in Canada, Will has played 75 games scoring 24 points covering various leagues including AAA & AA U18 hockey.
In his first senior season with the Fire, Will finished second in points, scoring 8 goals and assisting 14 times in all competitions.

I am delighted Will has committed to the Fire for another season. He exceeded all expectations last season and was one of our go-to players, playing a number of key roles on the team. His work ethic, along with desire to improve makes him the perfect player to have on the team.
