Cardiff Fire can announce that Defenceman Elis Sheppard has signed from the Slough Jets. Sheppard joined the Slough programme in 2012 representing the under 16’s and the under 18’s. Last season Elis was the assistant Captain of the Slough under 18 team. Despite only being 18 years old Elis has played the last 2 seasons in the National League as well as his junior commitments. The young defenceman finished last season as a champion wining the South East title with the Jets. Elis stands at 6’1 and weighs almost 200lbs
Mark Cuddihy added “Its great to be able to bring Elis to Cardiff. For a big guy he skates very well, he’s quick and very calm on the puck. He carries the puck with confidence but takes care of his own end first. He’s very much a stay at home D man. I’ve had a few conversations with Elis and I’m very impressed with his attitude. He’s very keen to learn and very keen to get going with Cardiff Fire. I’ve no doubt he will develop a great deal with us and the experience we have in our line up. I can’t wait to start working with him”
