Alex Madge becomes the 13th player to sign up to the Fire. The 31 year old played 18 games in Division one last season and has spent the majority of his career in Cardiff. Madge can play as a forward or defence has good foot speed and is a great playmaker. Al has played 81 games at National League level with a points tally of 49 (16+33) As a promising junior player in Cardiff Al played 5 games for the Cardiff Devils in the the BNL league.
Mark Cuddihy Added “I have played with Madgey myself back in 2007 and coached him a number of times over the years. His best position is on the wing but he’s also a great D man, the teams we’ve had over the years we have needed Al to play at the back but for the Fire he will play as a forward, it’s his favoured position and I think he’ll get a lot of points for us. He’s excited to play on the wing, having had a number of chats during the summer with Al he’s pretty pumped to get going. Al has the potential to be one of our best players”
