Fearnley and Wooldridge return to the Fire for 2024/25

Cardiff Fire are delighted to announce the return of defenceman Ryan Fernley and forward Nathan Wooldridge for the 2024/25 season.

24 year-old Ryan Fearnley joined the Fire in 2017 and has pulled on the Fire jersey 70 times. A popular member of the team, Ryan will stick up for his teammates when needed. The Cardiff born defenceman has played all his hockey in Cardiff representing the club at all junior age levels and into the senior teams.

Also returning to the line-up is 25 year-old Nathan Wooldridge. Nathan started his hockey career in Cardiff juniors before playing in the Cardiff University team. Nathan joined the team last year having spent some-time away from the game.

Head Coach Elis Sheppard continued:

Ryan is the real soul of the team. He bleeds the Fire. He is strong, hits hard and isn’t afraid to protect his teammates, vital qualities each team needs.

Nathan is a prospect player who after a few years out is finding his feet again. He made some real nice plays last year and has a good hockey IQ.

Both players are key components to our team and I’m thankful both have returned.

Welcome back to the Fire Family, #56 Ryan and #14 Nathan!
