Cardiff Fire are delighted to announce that last season’s Most Improved Player Louis James has committed to the Fire for the 2025-26 season.
Defenceman Louis joined the Fire on a two-way in the 2023-24 season splitting his time with the Under 18s and last year sorely played for the Fire going from strength to strength each game.
He was awarded Cardiff Fire’s ‘Most Improved Player’ at the awards night back in May after a season of consistent improvement.
Head Coach Elis Sheppard on the retention of James:
I am delighted that Louis has committed to a further year with the Fire. I think it’s safe to say Louis exceeded expectations last season, solidifying himself as a reliable stay at home defender.
Louis is a great skater and developed his hockey IQ last season, making the right plays at the right time. I’m expecting another season of progression and growth from Louis.
