Swindon born defenceman Joseph Llewellyn returns for his first full season with the Fire

Cardiff Fire are delighted to announce the re-signing of defenceman Joseph Llewellyn for the 2025-26 season.

Joe started his season last year with the Solent Devils, playing eight games, before making the switch over to the Fire, playing a further 26 games. At 23 he has already played over 110 games in NIHL1 and his experience shone through last year.

Head Coach Elis Sheppard on the re-signing of Llewellyn:

I’m delighted that we will have Joe for a full season. We injected him into the line-up when he joined and you could see that his experience was pivotal in bolstering our defensive core.

He is a very smart hockey player who reads the game very well. He commands the ice and is very difficult to dispossess. I’m delighted that Joe is going to continue to represent the Fire this upcoming season.

Welcome back to the Fire Family, Joe #28
