Cardiff Fire are delighted to announce that youngster Ioan Gunson and Nottingham native Ian Spridgeon will both return for the 2024/25 season.
Local lad Gunson stepped up to senior hockey last season after playing all his junior hockey in Cardiff. While Ian joined the club following a trial last summer and has quickly established himself within the team.
Head Coach Elis Sheppard added:
Ian quickly established himself as one of our go-to defenders. He slotted in seamlessly at the back. He’s strong in the corners and has great speed. Although his first season with the Fire, he instantly rose to the level needed to compete and was well respected within the dressing room.
Elis Sheppard continued:
Ioan is a player with a great attitude. He is keen to learn and takes all feedback on board. His improvement over the last twelve months has been great to see. He reads the game well and isn’t afraid to battle all night long. I anticipate that he continues to grow as a player.
